Money Mate Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 22, 2026

Money Mate is developed by JRP Apps.

Overview

Money Mate is a local-first personal finance application. Your detailed financial history is primarily stored on your device. Some optional features, such as MoneyMate Account, Google Drive backup, Google services, and advertising, require limited information to be processed by third-party service providers as described below.

JRP Apps does not sell your personal financial information. Money Mate does not send your transaction history, account balances, receipts, attachments, OCR contents, or full financial database to Firebase for account sync.

Financial Data Stored on Your Device

Money Mate stores detailed financial information locally on your device, including transactions, financial accounts, balances, payment methods, transaction notes, receipts or attachments, imported statement data, reports, calculations, and financial history.

This detailed financial information remains in the local Money Mate database unless you explicitly create or restore a backup, export or share a file, or otherwise choose to send information outside the app.

MoneyMate Account and Google Sign-In

A MoneyMate Account is optional. You can continue to use Money Mate without signing in. If you choose Continue with Google, Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication are used to authenticate your account.

Account-related information may include your Firebase user ID, email address, display name, profile photo URL, account status, sign-in timestamps, and profile information you choose to maintain in Money Mate, such as your name or date of birth.

Firebase / Firestore Account Synchronization

When you are signed in, Money Mate may store and synchronize limited account and configuration information using Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore. This can include your MoneyMate profile configuration, category configuration, budget configuration, last successful backup timestamp, account/synchronization metadata, and subscription or entitlement metadata.

Firebase is not used as the storage location for your full Money Mate backup or detailed financial transaction history. Money Mate does not intentionally upload transactions, financial account balances, payment methods, receipts, attachments, OCR contents, reports, exports, or the encrypted backup payload to Firestore.

Google Drive Cloud Backup and Restore

Money Mate supports optional encrypted full backup and restore using Google Drive on supported platforms. When you choose to create a cloud backup, the encrypted Money Mate backup is stored in your Google Drive under your Google account. Google Drive remains the storage provider for the full backup; the full backup is not copied into Firebase or Firestore.

A backup may contain the financial information and attachments that are part of the backup options you select. JRP Apps does not operate a separate server that stores the contents of your Google Drive backup. Google processes Drive files according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Local Backups, Imports, OCR, and Exports

Money Mate may allow you to create local backups, restore backup files, import bank statements or other supported files, scan or attach receipts, perform text extraction/OCR where supported, and export reports or transaction records. These actions are initiated by you.

Imported bank-statement contents and receipt/attachment contents are designed to be processed within the app and are not intentionally uploaded to Firebase or a JRP Apps server as part of the import or OCR process. Files you export or share are handled by the destination, app, or storage location you select.

Advertising

Money Mate may display advertisements through Google AdMob on supported versions or platforms where advertising is enabled. Google Mobile Ads may process information such as device or app identifiers, IP address, general location derived from IP address, app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic or fraud-prevention information in order to provide, measure, secure, and where permitted personalize advertising.

Money Mate does not provide your detailed financial transaction history, account balances, receipts, attachments, or bank-statement contents to AdMob for advertising purposes. Google's handling of advertising data is governed by Google's own privacy terms and your applicable Google/ad privacy settings.

Analytics, Diagnostics, and Support

Money Mate does not intentionally use your detailed financial records as third-party analytics data. Advertising services may perform their own ad measurement and diagnostics as described above.

Money Mate may generate diagnostic information to help identify app problems, such as app version, platform information, feature health checks, permission status, backup availability or error status, and other technical information. If the app allows you to export or share a diagnostic report, JRP Apps receives that report only when you choose to send or share it with support.

Notifications and Reminders

Money Mate may schedule local notifications and reminders, including budget alerts, daily reminders, backup reminders, and reminders you create. These are primarily managed on your device. Notification permission may be requested where required by the operating system.

Permissions and Device Access

Money Mate requests only permissions or system access needed for enabled features. Depending on your device and the features you use, this may include access to the file picker or document provider, camera or media selection for receipts and attachments, notifications, network access for Google services, Google Drive access for backup/restore, and system sharing tools.

Access is used to perform the feature you requested. Money Mate does not need broad access to all files on your device for normal import/export flows where the operating system provides a secure picker.

Data Security

Money Mate is designed around a local-first architecture and includes safeguards for locally stored information and encrypted cloud backups. Information sent to Google/Firebase services is transmitted using the security mechanisms provided by those services and the operating system.

No method of electronic storage, transmission, authentication, or device protection can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, device passcode, Money Mate app lock, Google account, and any backup or exported files you create.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local financial data remains on your device until you delete records, use the app's reset/delete options, clear the app's data through your device settings, or uninstall the app. Local backup and exported files saved outside Money Mate must be deleted separately from the location where you saved them.

If you delete your MoneyMate Account, the app requests deletion of the Firebase Authentication account and user-owned MoneyMate profile/configuration data that is part of the account deletion flow. Deleting a MoneyMate Account does not automatically delete your local financial database or your Google Drive backup files. Those must be deleted separately if you want them removed.

Certain limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, purchase-verification, or service-integrity purposes, subject to the applicable service provider's policies and law.

Your Choices

You can use Money Mate without creating a MoneyMate Account. You can choose whether to sign in, whether to create Google Drive backups, whether to import or export files, and whether to share diagnostic information with support. Where advertising privacy or consent controls are available through Google or your device, you can use those controls to manage applicable advertising preferences.

Children's Privacy

Money Mate is not directed at children and JRP Apps does not knowingly use Money Mate to collect personal financial information from children.

Third-Party Services

Depending on the features you use and the platform, Money Mate may use Google services including Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Google Drive, Google AdMob, and Google Play services. These providers may process technical, authentication, account, storage, advertising, or service usage information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

International Data Processing

Third-party providers such as Google may process account, authentication, cloud-storage, or advertising information in countries where they or their service providers operate. Their processing is governed by their applicable terms, privacy policies, and data-protection commitments.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Money Mate adds, removes, or changes features, permissions, account synchronization, backup behavior, advertising, or third-party services. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
